Background:
Karnataka, India’s second-largest grape producer, faces market price fluctuations that affect grape growers, despite favorable climate conditions for cultivating diverse grape varieties. The need for value addition through grape products, such as wine, has become evident to help mitigate economic challenges.
Task:
The goal was to establish a multifaceted wine tourism destination to increase awareness about winemaking, support local grape growers, and cater to both local and international markets.
Response:
The project involved developing a winery, wine and art museum, resort, and research and training centers. The design aimed to create a comprehensive tourism center that promotes winemaking, educates visitors, and provides an immersive experience.
Result:
The establishment not only contributes to local grape production by showcasing wine as a value-added product but also attracts tourists, educating them about the winemaking process. This initiative supports the local economy while building awareness about the region's rich agricultural potential.
